20 Facts About Me

Because it’s about time you get to know the woman behind these pages. Here are 20 basic and less basic facts about me. For the blog’s About Me page, click here.

  • I am French (yeah, shocking right?). I grew up in the Eastern part of France but I discovered real life (adult life I mean) in Paris and it has since become home. I currently live between Saint-Etienne and Lyon though.
  • Because yes, after graduating college in 2014, working abroad for a year, and struggling with my life for another, I decided to enroll back in a Master in Fashion Marketing, at Lyon’s Université de la Mode. Life will be restarting on September 19th, yaay.
  • I speak French, English (well I write more than I speak, you should hear that accent), Japanese and Korean. I used to have notions of Spanish but I can’t really follow a conversation anymore. I really love languages though.
  • I moved to Japan at 17, where I lived for about a year under the Rotary Club Exchange program (French speakers can read about it here), which allows students all over the world to enroll in a local high school in a foreign country. I was in Isahaya, a small city inside the Nagasaki prefecture, and it is now my second home. Japan is my love.
  • After college graduation I worked in Seoul, South Korea as fashion and beauty editor for media outlet bnt International. It was the kind of experience that makes you grow up and learn new things about yourself, and others, but the life wasn’t that nice either. I’d love to tell you guys about it.
  • I love reading, even though I am not the most consistent of readers. My favorite literature is, obviously, French. But other than novels and fashion books I also like to read educational, cultural and improvement books.
  • I don’t have a driving license. Until now, I never felt the need to apply for it though living in a small city now I kinda regret I didn’t do it earlier.
  • I am a friend of animals. I care for animal rights and am very curious about everything that deals with how they live. My favorite are monkeys and birds; I find them fascinating. Without being totally vegetarian, I try to avoid spending my little money in the meat business. I am curious for vegan fashion and alternatives to our economy and try to raise awareness around me about our ecosystem and planet.
  • I have been trying to consume palm oil-free for half a year now. I feel highly concerned by this cause and I wish more people would open their eyes and heart to the reality.
  • This may sound surprising but I am a big football passionate. I even wrote for a UK based football site (very young), called From The Sideline (click for redirection). I am a Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid supporter – my family has it rough since we’ve been involved with the Association Sportive de Saint-Etienne (ASSE) for years now.
  • When I was a kid, I wanted to become a special agent, or spy. You can guess that I wasn’t able to follow this path by watching me trying to open a bottle of water.
  • However, as I grew up, I still remained very attached to this idea and my female role model is no other than Beatrix Kiddo, the heroine from the Quentin Tarantino movie, Kill Bill. She’s not a special agent, she’s more of a mercenary I know. BUT she’s the quintessence of female empowerment for me. You can also think Mikasa Ackerman from Shingeki No Kyojin. But never think Alex Parrish please.
  • Speaking of Tarantino, I really like how the man directs his movies. I think Kill Bill and Django Unchained were especially aesthetical and I love how the mystery is always visually implied.
  • My favorite Disney princess is Elsa. No, kidding. Totally kidding. It certainly is Jasmine. For obvious and legit reasons: she’s definitely the hottest bitch around.
  • Another fact that may come as a surprise: I love playing video games. Since the crib. My father used to have the old gaming consoles at home and I started observing at a really early age (don’t you dare questioning my education). I am big fan of RPGs, especially the good old Final Fantasy license games. But I also have beautiful memories of playing the early numbers of Resident Evil, you see.
  • I am a semi-professional binge-eater. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be gifted with a fast metabolism which allows me to actually enjoy this activity at its finest.
  • I always dreamed of being a martial arts master (the complex of the weak) and especially Wushu… but the only thing Chinese I can do is say “thank you” in Mandarin.
  • My favorite fashion houses are Valentino, Dolce&Gabbana, Giambattista Valli, Carven, Victoria Beckham.
  • Of all the beauty labels that are available today, there’s one brand I dream of trying: Crème de la Mer. I tried some La Prairie and Sisley’s skincare items and they were fabulous, too. Luxe beauty with luxe ingredients are my life’s goal.
  • I am allergic to aloe vera (as you can read here), squid and dust. Yay, super happy life.
